- In math we will continue to work with fractions. Our unit will help us to discover multiple ways to show equal parts of one whole. We are learning there are different ways to represent equivalent fractions with our fraction strips and cards. We are comparing how different sized pieces can make the same amount.
- In social studies we are continuing to learn how historians think and how they have to be detectives to figure out the past. Our focus on primary and secondary sources is helping us to discover how history is actual artifacts (primary source) that present information and sometimes we learn from people who have studied history and then wrote about it. (secondary source)
- Kindness Week
We will be recognizing kind acts all week at Roosevelt. Our class is going to focus on the word "supportive" all week. We will talk about ways to support our classmates and friends. We will be recognizing students who we see supporting others on our classroom heart placed on our door for all to see. Please support us and ask what act of kindness your child had witnessed that day when they get home from school. Third graders will be singing at the kindness assembly on Friday afternoon. Information will be sent home regarding specifics on time.
